| Question (EN) | How would it be illogical to assume that romance can exist considering there are male and female members of the Matoran/Toa race? After all, they were initially built to be blank clones, and then started glitching out and developing emotions. How can "love" not be possible when "anger" "fear" "happiness" and "sadness" are? |
| Réponse (EN) | Simple. Humans and most other species have a biological imperative to reproduce. The notion of romantic love among humans really did not even start until the Middle Ages, and usually went along with that imperative (yes, there are people who fall in love and can't have or don't want to have children, but you get my point -- in nature, an animal that cannot produce children will normally not get a mate.)
MU characters cannot and are not intended to produce offspring. Therefore, there was no reason for either the GBs or Velika to give them that emotional capacity or concept. It would serve no purpose, and this is in the end a big machine -- you try to avoid introducing things that serve no purpose. |

| Réponse (FR) | C'est simple. Les humains et la plupart des autres espèces ont un impératif biologique de se reproduire. La notion d'amour romantique entre humain n'a même pas vraiment commencé avant le Moyen-Âge, et dépendait habituellement de cet impératif (oui, il y a des gens qui tombent amoureux et ne peuvent pas avoir ou ne veulent pas d'enfants, mais dans la nature, un animal ne pouvant pas produire d'enfant n'a normalement pas de partenaire.)
Les personnages de l'UM ne peuvent pas et ne sont pas supposés produire de descendance. Il n'y a donc aucune raison pour les GE ou Velika de leur donner cette capacité émotionnelle ou ce concept. Ça n'aurait pas de but, et au final c'est une grosse machine -- vous essayez d'éviter d'introduire des choses qui n'auraient pas de but. |
